As a senior industry analyst and consultant, Ayvazian directs a wide range of research and consulting projects across a broad group of topics, including communications industry structure, broadband service provider strategy, mobile network infrastructure, enterprise networking strategy, information technology and applications.


Laurence Deforeit
Director, Strategic Marketing Carrier Networks, Nortel

Laurence Deforeit is Director, Strategic Marketing Carrier Networks at Nortel. In this role, Laurence is responsible for promoting Nortel's WiMAX, 4G, IMS, VoIP and multimedia solutions including the direction of Nortel's participation to high profile events worldwide. Since joining Nortel in 1990, Laurence has held a number of management positions in Carrier, Wireless, Enterprise and Corporate marketing and combines expertise in diverse marketing functions.


Caroline Gabriel
Founder, Rethink Research Associates

Caroline Gabriel co-founded Rethink Research Associates in 2002. Rethink is a London, UK-based market research and consulting company specialized in technologies and business models for service providers and vendors, in the broadband wireless, 3G, fixed/mobile convergence and wireline broadband markets. It provides published market reports, customized research projects and business model consulting, and holds one of the world’s most comprehensive research databases of operators and vendors in broadband wireless, particularly WiMAX.


Tom Gruba
Motorola

Tom Gruba is the Senior Director of Marketing for the MOTOwi4 WiMAX within the Home and Networks Mobility business of Motorola. Gruba started marketing Motorola's wireless broadband products with the 2002 launch of its award winning Canopy(R) wireless broadband portfolio. He has been with Motorola for ten years and has served in various business development and marketing roles in both Motorola Networks and the Internet Content and Software Group. Prior to joining Motorola, Gruba was at ATT Bell Laboratories, ATT Network Systems and Lucent Technologies for 13 years where he held numerous management roles in engineering and product marketing. Gruba earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Aurora University in Aurora, Illinois, and an Associate in Applied Science degree from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois.


Brendan O'Rourke
Freedom4

As Chief Operating Officer Brendan has responsibility for sales, marketing and product development; engineering and operations and all commercial activities of FREEDOM4. Brendan has led the business from technical trial through to commercial service launch during 2007. Brendan previously was General Manager, Internet Networks and Technology, at BT where he was responsible for the development and operation of the Broadband & Internet Network and Technology Platforms. During Brendan’s 20 years in the industry he has held senior management positions with IBM Global Services and PriceWaterhouseCoopers in Europe, Asia and the Americas delivering strategic technology and information systems platforms to global telecommunications companies. Brendan has a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the University of London.


Asko Rasanen
Nokia Siemens Networks

Asko Rasanen is responsible for the Mobile WiMAX Product Line Management in Radio Access at Nokia Siemens Networks. Before joining Nokia Siemens Networks, he worked at Nokia since 1993 in different roles in R&D, marketing and sales, venturing and corporate strategy. Before Nokia he worked in ICT companies in Finland and international assignments in a variety of areas, such as marketing, product management and services.

Kevin Suitor
VP, Redline Communications

Kevin Suitor is widely recognized for his expertise in the telecommunications industry. Mr. Suitor is the Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for Redline Communications Inc., a manufacturer of standards-based broadband fixed wireless access and backhaul solutions in the 2 to 11 GHz bands. Mr. Suitor is also Redline’s delegate for WiMAX and sits on the Marketing Working Group for WiMAX. Mr. Suitor has been actively involved over the years in the ATM Forum and Wireless Communications Association. He has written numerous articles in several industry publications and is a regular speaker on topics such as: Broadband Fixed Wireless, 802.16, WiMAX, Softswitches, Voice over IP, ATM, Gigabit Ethernet and Virtual Private Networks.


Eliot Weinman
President, Trendsmedia, the Events & Publishing Division, Yankee Group

Eliot Weinman is the president of Yankee Group's events and publishing division. Weinman is charged with producing groundbreaking global industry events and publications that investigate the challenges and opportunities of the global connectivity revolution. Weinman has created more than 150 tradeshows, dozens of trade publications and has consulted many of the world's leading technology companies. He is conference chair of WiMAX World Conference & Expo, the world's largest WiMAX events in the USA , Europe and Asia . Before Yankee Group, he founded and sold four successful integrated media companies, the most recent of which is Trendsmedia, the events and publishing division of Yankee Group.

Peter Ziegelwanger
Managing Director - WiMAX Telecom GmbH, Austria, Chief Technology Officer - WiMAX Telecom AG, Switzerland

Since 1st February 2005 Peter Ziegelwanger is the Managing Director of WiMAX Telecom GmbH in Austria and CTO of the WiMAX Telecom Group. He has more than 15 years experience in the telecommunications business. He held several executive management positions in operations and sales in telecommunications companies such as Ericsson Austria, Airpage (CTO), RSL COM Austria (COO, now eTel Austria) and Memorex Telex Communications AG (COO). His last position was Head of International Carrier Management in Telekom Austria. Peter Ziegelwanger holds a graduate in Civil Engineering (Atomic Physics) from the Technical University of Vienna and has an extensive technical background in the telecommunications sector.
